About Emily

Emily received her Masters in Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto in 2010. She has spent the last 12 years practicing in the Sea to Sky Corridor, including a couple of winters treating traumatic knee, shoulder and back injuries in Whistler. During this time she has pursued extensive post graduate training in Visceral Manipulation, Neural Manipulation, Craniosacral Therapy, Anatomical Acupuncture and Dry Needling, A.R.T.(Active Release Techniques) as well as taping, bike fitting and canine therapy.
Emily is a registered physiotherapist trained in Diane Lee’s Integrated Systems Model; a specialized assessment approach that revolves around the analysis of the body as whole and complex system. Assessment involves a head to toe scan of a posture or a movement to determine areas of dysfunction or asymmetry. This allows the therapist to identify both the area of original injury as well as areas that are compensating in response to that injury. Discerning areas of injury from areas of compensation leads to much more effective treatments and faster results. This style of assessment is particularly useful for individuals with complicated injuries, a history of multiple injuries/traumas, injuries that appear to “come out of nowhere”, dysfunction resulting from abdominal or pelvic surgeries, and car accidents.
